Sirius Sat in 08 Lancer GTS
Hi gang...
Recently picked up my new GTS and gotta say I absolutely LOVE it!
Unfortunately, there's some confussion about the Sirius sat radio... Is it or is it not in the system already? If not, what is needed to get it going? etc...
Before we go further... I am in Canada, and it's a Canadian model.
I already have an active sat account (US version) and want to transfer it over...
Anyone know anything??? I've been given conflicting information from the dealer, Mitsu Canada, Sirius, and Mitsu USA...
Thanks!

to activate the new one, you must call the number displayed on the screen and then read the activation number to them(also on the screen) and you are good to go within 5-10 minutes. about transferring, i would call them i don't know anything about that this is my first time with satellite radio and i love it.

Hi gts-in-nj,
I did read that in the manual, problem is, my system reads "Sat Error" and won't allow me to get the ID#... Hence my concern if my car even has the receiver in it!
Some say yes, some say no!

Looking at the ca website they do not say anything about the sirius. I do not think you have it . Glad to hear you like the package I am waiting for delivery from my dealer.

Manual doesn't say anything except how to access the ID# - which following the instructions, will not work!
Again, lot's of conflicting information as to what is or is not neeed!!
Frustrating!

Given that the satellites are in geosynchronous orbit I don't see any reason why someone in Canada can't get Sirius. Line of sight is a big deal - make sure when you call that you've got a signal (clear view of the southern sky, plus the little doggie will have a line through it if the signal is no good).

That's the problem!!! I CAN'T get te activation code!!! The rest is easy and I know how to activate it... but as I said above... the system reads "Sat Error" and will NOT allow me to change the station to 184 or anything!
Needless to say I am very frustrated by this!

Have you called Sirius? That's who's going to be able to help you. I would recommend you do it by cell phone so you can sit in the car while they talk to you. You don't need the activation code to call them.
