Question 2008 Lancer ES audio HELP!!!!!!!!

I have a 08 Lancer ES i throw some db's (Dark Boys)on it...that's 5% tints where i come from. Anyways i bought some polk db 650's and hopefully i can install them this weekend. If you trying to change speakers in a 08 lancer forget adapters u need to screw in to the metal(stock speaker has no screws 3 prong adapter twist and pull)...what the hell man this is my first mitsubishi...and it's cool and all but what da hell...fords and chevys u just install them the same way you took them out, but anyways i was looking for anybody and i mean anybody that knows there **** bout mitsubishies because im trying to put some (beat out) in the trunk 2 12" kicker comp sub's with Orion amp. And i noticed that the car comes pre wired for the stock sub-amp system in the trunk on the left hand side. i wanna know if i can tap into that factory plug to put an in-line converter and the remote wire for the amp the plug has 4 wires yellow, blue, red, and green anybody knows what these colors are for? Maybe someone that has the stock sub can tell me what the hell these colors are and where thay go to? Also i noticed in the manual that the fuse box takes a fuse for that stock system do i need to put a fuse there or can i bypass it?

The old model Lancer's are pretty easy to hook up, but just by sitting in one of the new 08 models and looking at the speakers+stereo in dash I was like "This'll seem like a ***** to change." Sorry I cant help... hopefully you'll find someone who owns an 08 that can help you.

Are you going to change the headunit? If so, I personally would get the navi panel from a GTS (you should be able to order it) and put in an aftermarket 2-DIN unit. Then, it should be easier to wire everything up. This is what I'm going to do it I get an 08 Lancer (GTS).

There shouldn't be any power going to the sub wires in the rear. They are unpluged due to you not having the amp.

Currently there is no aftermarket dash kit/wire harness kit for the 08s. Some shops can order the double din Navi kit direct from Mitsubishi but its costly. Then when you purchase and aftermarket 2-Din radio, they have to make their own harnesses. You might lose the capability of the steering wheel controls as well.

Hey man just take a DMM(Digital Multimeter) and put the black to chassi ground and put the red probe to the live wire if it shows 12v then you have your wires hooked up.

Just use a in-line converter.

I'm not too familiar with the new layout with the 08 lancer, but it's actually easier if you didn't get the sun and sound package because of the integration behind the radio. It's a pain in the butt. But take out the radio now and find the rear speaker output wires and tap into them with an output converter and run your RCA's from there. I usually have a bunch of wiring diagrams at my work, but I only have up to 2005 lancer

About the power though from the OEM plug for the rockford sub, the guage isn't big enough for your application since they were only running 650 watts MAX. So just link a 4G power cable to the battery like any other car.

About the speakers, I kinda need pictures to help you out, and some speakers like infinity come with adaptor plates to help ya out. But if you do bolt it into the metal, it's not bad, but you should put some vibration dampening material on there as well so you don't have a buzzing sound when bass hits. Example-- dynamat.

Other than that... Let's see some pictures

is the rockford amp that comes with the sun and sound package a remote turn on or a smart sensor?

I would probably check the fuse panels aswell and not just the wiring. If there is simply no fuse in the spot where the system should be, you wont get anything. It could also just be pre-wired in all GTS models, and not hooked up in the back of the deck.

i havent done anything yet since this guy in here keeps saying that metra is going to release a dash kit im just waiting because i want to change the radio i dont know bout that rockford but the radio i got in my ES sucks...it doesnt go loud enough for me im probably going to put in an Alpine unit in there so that i can run my 2 amps because i like to have control of my music and putting in an inline converter wouldnt do anything but drown out the mids and highs i'd do that if i had the premium sound system though i did it in my 2006 mustang with a shaker 500 system and it sounded awesome with the 2 12's in the back. so i guess im just waiting till they come out with a kit after that its on.

Metra is still working on it. They need to hurry up. I told them that they would be sold out of them the week they release. I'll keep an eye on Scosche too.
