Brightness and Contrast on 2008 Lancer

Anyone know if I can change the brightness or contrast for the 2008 Lancer audio system?

I read the manual and it doesn't indicate that I can change it.

It's really hard to see when it's bright outside and wearing sunglasses.

But that's only if you have NAV.

What happens when you don't have NAV?

You can adjust the brightness using the gauge button. Ya know, the same one ya push to reset the gas gauge.

Well ya tap it and push until you get it to the brightest level. Granted it's not too bright, but it's brighter than stock.

Has anyone looked into a replacement screen?
