I picked up my GTS a couple weeks ago, great car. Got the sun and sound package thinking 650 watt rockford, gotta be pretty damn good. I have to say I am disappointed though. I find it pretty weak for a premium stereo.

Maybe most people would be happy with it, but I also have a dodge nitro with the infinity stereo and it kills the lancer's sound.

Anyone else find it crappy? Can the amp be tweaked or anything I can do to make it better?

I got it as well, and am also extremely disappointed in the quality and volume that the stereo produces. My old car had aftermarket speakers, but they weren't even that good, and at half the max volume would blow away this system at full volume. Really a big letdown, considering all the money it cost.

i am disappointed with its radio reception quality but find cd playing to be very good!

Beats the crap out of the stock system in my Subaru. I'm happy with it.

I'm also disappointed with the radio reception, but I don't necessarily know if that's the RF system's fault or not.

My only gripe is volume/wind. Even turning it way up (I'm a wuss, so I try not to go past 40), it can be hard to hear over wind noise on the freeway. Granted, I could probably play with some of the controls, but I have everything pretty much zeroed out...

Its a little disappointing compared to my old Honda Piolets Stock system. The Rockford system seems like it has more bass, but the stock piolet system had more everything else. I dunno, it just seems like the mids are kinda low and muddy compared to some other systems. Its not bad, but I just expected more for the money.

If you think the RF system is weak, compare it to the non-RF system. Max volume wasn't even that great. I installed a 4 channel with new speakers all around, and it sounds ALOT better. I'd like to compare to a RF system to see how they sound.

I'd like to try and put this into perspective. Can anyone compare the sound of the RF package to the Infinity system in the 04-06 RA's? I'm interested to learn how they stack up.

I'm also kind of dissapointed. It sounds better than a Liberty Limited but worst than a Stratus R/T with the premium sound package both.
