frustrating...

ok so i was installing a 4-channel amp to my speakers...when i was finished, my rear right tailight and front right parking light would come on. i changed the bulbs for both but nothing happened. whenever i hit my brakes, both lights come on; but when i just have the lights on, the rear right light is off...anybody have an idea of what the problem is...ive been pulled over twice with warnings and its really annoying

WOW, that must suck! LOL But seriously, that's not cool at all. First, start by telling us whether you have an aftermarket HU, if you installed that, aftermarket speakers, who installed those, whether you used the factory wires for the leads for the amp, where you grounded the amp, through where you routed the power wire, etc etc.

Well, did you use the factory wiring as the wires to the amps? or run new wire like any shop would recommend?

I'd start by removing the amp and see what happens...

Yeah, just leave the amp in there...but disconnect it from the wiring. See if anything happens? Did you say you have an aftermarket HU?

I'm willing to bet the problem is where you fished your power wire through the firewall.

If you sent your 8ga/4ga whatever sized power wire through a grommet in the firewall that also had a bunch of factory wires going through it.... chances are you might have snagged the wires that control those lights.

I personally have seen this happen.

I would either uninstall everything like the others suggested or at least pull your power wire back through the firewall and see if the problem goes away.

Hope this helps,

Nick
