Ipod integration

Hello,
I just got my evo today. Its a 2005 with the SSL and I love it. Anyway I took out the deck and was wondering if by using the input on the deck for the CD changer or something else if I would be able to connect my ipod? I am looking for a cheap solution as I do not want to invest in a new deck at the moment. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

well if you plan on getting a HU sometime in the future, why not just get an FM transmitter for your iPod? check these out:

Thanks everyone for their input. It looks as though I am going to be getting a new deck sooner than I would have liked to. It looks like that adapter from Mitsubishi parts would work however i can get a new deck for that price. Anyway i am not going to give up yet. When i took out the deck that port resembled the same port on my buddies deck in which he just has a simple cable which connects his ipod. Im assuming the problem with this is that even if the cable does indeed hook up, there will be no way to switch the deck to the ipod. Kinda similar to my original question however any other input would be appreciated.

the integration kits from mitsu are pricey i believe. I have a Alpine cda-9885 with the Ipod wire. plugs right into the back of player and then I plug it into bottom of iphone. It integrates with the alpine so you dont have to even have the ipod out. Love it. I dunno which would be more cost effective. might be worth it to change everything at once, especially if you want a new HU in the future.
