Trunk carpeting removal

Here's my problem. I want to take the carpeting out of the trunk. The floor, obviously is no problem. The walls on the other hand are pissing me off. Sure I knoe how to take it out, but I want to put it back in once I'm done.

All the pins on the right side were taken out. But none of them can out in 1 piece. So here's the question. How can I take out those small black pins without breaking them?

use a small headed driver and push the "button" in the middle in, then pry the plug out. The button locks them in there.

That's how I screwed up most of them. However... I found a solution. You gotta find a way to slide your hand between the wall and the carpet and push the pin out. One finger isn't enough, unless you got some huge fingers.

heres what you do. forget about those god-frsaken pins. you can buy "rivets" at your local auto store. i just bought enough to replace all the ones i broke(and they have instead of push tab rivets, they have screw in rivets, so thats a whole hell of a lot easier). i think they run less than a dollar for a pack of 2. imo, worth the money(and less effort)
