trunk system help needed

ok so heres the deal..i just bought an alpine set up (amp, sub, and box) for about 140 dollars and installed it a couple weeks ago. Only problem is the thing slides around and folds the carpet ect. so wehn i open the trunk it looks like a hurricane hit it. and this is even when i drive normal. the box is carpeted but doeesnt help seeing as how the trunk carpet isnt bolted or screwed down. any suggestions as to what to do to stop it from flying around? i thought about drilling four screws through the carpet and wooden thingy at the corners of the box so that the carpet wont move but idk if that;ll work. ill drive around today and take pictures afterwards tonight to show what im talking about if you dont understand from the explanation. thanks

You can get industrial strength velcro from wal-mart for like $5. This is what I used for under the carpet, as well as under the box. It works just fine & is removable - useful if you ever need to access your spare, or remove your subs for some reason.

had the same problem with mine..simple solution for me was push the box as far back(toward the front of the car) as it can go and then cut like a piece of 1/2" plywood to fit between the box and the back of the trunk..
stopped everything from moviing for me..theres other things u can do..like L brackets in the corners of the box and other things but this worked well without drilling or anything

that is if u dont mind a piece of wood in ur trunk sittin there..i suppose u could always paint it and do what u want with it if u dont like the look

thats just my .02

^Yup, just make sure it's industrial strength & you'll be fine. The one I used was about 2 inches wide & came in a 10 ft roll. Also make sure to put the velcro on all 4 corners of your sub box in at least 3 inch strips. Stick them under the carpet as well, in at least 3 inch strips, in various sections, about 1 foot spread apart for good coverage.

But, also make sure that the box is as close to the back seats as possible

You can attach the velcro to the sub box with tiny nails/tacks...and make sure to use the right side of it! LOL

I took a can of spray adhesive and sprayed the board on top of the spare. Then smoothed the carpet on top of it inside the trunk. I took the board out, then put the carpet back in, and lined it up right. Then sprayed the board, set it in, and rolled the carpet back on top of it. I did this to make sure i got it lined up properly.

I was gonna use velcro, but decided to use this rout instead. If you need to access the spare, the board and carpet come out together.
