My JDM Mitsubishi headunit install kit arrived today! Bye bye Metra
Here are a couple of pics. I don't like how far back the HU sits in the opening but the installer said that's the only way it fits in there. I am so used to it now I don't even notice it.

I wrapped the plastic sheet with a carbon fiber looking vinyl. It's not nearly as noticeable in person as it is in this picture though, but it way better than the plastic. And I used some foam tape to fill in the rest of the gap around the deck.

Looks good. I noticed that the JDM kit pushes the radio back a inch or so compared to the Metra one. Is it noticeable when you reach to push a button on the head unit?
Thanks

Its not bad at all. I can still easily reach buttons. Its also nice having the headunit pushed into the dash a little bit more, so the look is more flush.

The metra kit doesn't come with a newcircuit board, you use the factory one. The JDM one comes with a new circuit board but I hear it will give you a SDS failer light if you use it.
