navigation system help!
Hello! have been lurking for awhile, and had a question so this is my first post. dun dun dun! (hope it its the right place) and thanks in advance!
got a new 09' Lancer GTS 2 weeks ago (love it!) but got the manual so had to purchase the navigation package and have it installed after the fact. (the dealer didnt have any manual trans. with the nav package). But I got it back and my RCA AUX ins dont have the updated 3 ins (with video/yellow) has any one had this problem?
if so what cable do i get to hook it up, i really want to be able to use my AUX in as a rear view camera input.
again thanks for the advice...love the site!
cheers,
dustin

But you said that you're gonna use it as the Rear view camera??? I don't think that will work because on my Navi screen the second I start to move, forward or backwards, the screen turns off and says that it wont display while vehicle is in motion. Just a heads up.

that is a good point, hmmm...
well even if not as a rear view cam, at least being able to have the full features would be good.
maybe i need to bust the ***** of the dealership more. thanks for the info!

you can always just find the wire that controls that, like a hand brake wire, and permanently ground it....that might work. it does on aftermarket DVD players

well these guys have links too a iso that will make your Nav system play DVDs. The newest version isnt supported yet. But hopefully it will be posted soon
or yea i am sure the handbrake method would work too, but might void the warranty and be noticeable by the DLR

The E-brake doesn't control the video of our decks....the decks have a speed sense of some sort and the GPS to "know" when you're moving. I've tried just pulling up on the ebrake til the light comes on and then driving and it still shuts off the video. There is an ISO that works on the 08 model but nothing right now for the 09 models.
But you are correct that grounding the handbrake on SOME aftermarket decks will allow video.
