After Installing Navigation System the AUX Jack does not Work

I bought a Lancer Sportback GTS recently and I have the dealer installed the Navigation system for me because it did not come with it. After I have my car for about a couple days, I found out that the AUX Jack does not work. The Navigation system cannot detect the MP3 player or any music device I plugged in. So I took my car back to the service two times and still they cannot fix the problem. They told me the Navi is not compatible with the AUX Jack, but other cars that comes with the Navi worked.

I was wondering if anyone have had the same problem I have because I am pretty stressed out about it since I paid extra money to get the Navi installed and now causing the AUX function to not work. I feel cheated on and not happy because they are not doing anything about it.

since it originally worked, it sounds like it could have had a bad connection somewhere and it just fell out or failed. if you can, i would try taking apart some of the dash to take a look, might be something stupid like the harness fell out from behind the nav...

I don't really know about cars, but I don't think its bad connection because if it is it'll be simple to the dealer's service department. I brought my car in to get the problem fix for two times already and they said they did not find a solution to it yet.

I am probably looking for a refund at this point if they can't fix it, do you know how long is the warranty period?

Call another dealer, tell them your situation. See what they say (if it will work or not). If it is supposed to work then, call the original installation dealer, tell them you have been in twice, or whatever it may be. Then, state it should work according to Mitsubishi specs. If they do not, a call to 1-800-mitsu (or what may it be) is in order to fix this. Don't tell the original installer you will be contacting mitsu hotline. Ask them what their dealer number is.

Then you can call mitsu and report the exact dealer number and hopefully get some results. Good luck

I called another dealership and they said they will charge me so they told me to go back to the dealership that I bought the car from. And I finally got another email from the dealership telling me that they are "looking" in the problem, which I doubt it. Next saturday I will take it back again and if they dont have the solution to the problem, i will ask them for the full refund there.

Re Fredi: Where can I find if it says SUPPORT AUX Audio R/L Input (RCA)?

And thanks guys for helping me out

your Navi system come with user's guide ,right!. take a look and see, or at least post the unit navi model, so that we can find some details online.

Good luck

Thanks
The dealer finally fixed it after I took it in 5 times. They put in the wrong Navi system for my lancer and its missing a wire from the navi to the aux jacks. How hard was that for the mechanics right?

I just got the 2010 lancer sportback GTS yesterday and I am having the same problem. I emailed the manager and what a surprise, today he is not responding. I also noticed there is no option from satellite radio. I'm suppose to get 3 months free.

It was a hassle for me because I live far away from the dealer of where i got the my car from. =/ if u go in make sure u give them pressure and tell them to check if the navi is updated and if it is missing a wire to the navi and the aux jacks..because the guy told me that since the car didnt come with navi from the very beginning it is missing wires to connect the navi to the car.
