Ok... so after tapping into every single wire I finally figured it out! you have to connect to the blue/grey and black/grey wires from the radio wiring harness... you know, the only harness from the stock system that hooks up to the aftermarket headunit... duh. anyways, I can finally control my F90BT from my steering wheel!

Ya, with the help of the PAC SWI-PS you can control your deck and keep your bluetooth controls. The "PS" on the end means Pioneer / Sony so if you went with a Kenwood deck you would need the one that works with kenwood, not sure on the model number.

Hi guys, need some help here. According to PAC's online instructions, it says " Connect pin 32 (black) to ground"

How did you guys do this? do you cut the existing wire in pin 32 then grounded it or create a splice? thanks.

PAC to factory harness connection

There is a total of four wires. 12v, Gorund(PAC), Data, Ground(steering controls). The red PAC wire connects to the yellow wire (red on aftermarket harness) on the factory harness. The black PAC wire connects to the solid (no gray stripes) black wire. The white PAC wire connects to the blue/gray (gray stripes) wire. The steering controls must be grounded to complete the circuit. There is a black/gray striped wire on the factory harness. Take a piece of wire and connect the black/gray (steering ground) wire to the solid black (ground) wire. Once that is connected correctly you should be able to program the PAC just like the instructions says. PAC didn't really do a good job on explaining the wire connections on any of their swi's for any car. If look at the instructions for other cars, the instructions are just as vague if not more complicated. Let me know if it works.

Thanks snoopyjoe, very good info!

But another problem I ran into, I programmed the unit just like the instructions but when I press the buttons on the steering wheel after, nothing happens. The LED did react when the buttons were pressed so any idea what could possibly went wrong? Here's what I did:

I would double check the version number programmed into the PAC. The version number should be 8 for the lancer. When you turn the car to the on position does the led flash 8 times? Also check the radio dial (potentiometer) on the PAC. It may be stuck between two different numbers and thinks your stereo is a different brand. Your connections look good and if you press the steering controls and the PAC responds then it is connected correctly. Also try reprogramming the PAC and making sure that skipped controls are actually skipped.

I think I know what went wrong. Is the jack (beside the blue/yellow wire on the other side of the unit) suppose to be plugged into the back of the deck?

Do you need the factory bluetooth already installed for this to work? Or will it work with just the PAC SWI and an aftermarket bluetooth enabled deck?

Anyone know the solution to this? I just installed a navigation system today and am experiencing the same issue.
