i dont care, do as you wish, im not crying, im just being helpful, is there a point to driving ont he highway wiht your windows down and your system louder than the htoughts in your head? if there is please share, i once bumped my sytem too, its a thing you do when you havent grown up enough, leave loud music to the clubs and studios, i just dont see a point to it, sorry if i sound like a mother, but i can tell you dont get any worthy chicks, har har, just jokin bro, keep it sound

15s huh, how bout when you got 2JL 18w6 with 1500 watts of PPI power on each, and MB quart Q series with 1400 watts on them, oh and I forgot about the 8s JLs in the doors. And to think we built this for sound quality, and it worked for 2nd place in the world at the IASCA world finals.

Speaking of sound quality, for you bassheads, try this:

2 JL 10w7's (~ 1 Ohm)
1 Xtant 1001D (1 kW)
MB Quart Competition 6 1/2's + 1 inch tweeters all around
1 Xtant 4180c 4 channel amp (75W per channel)
Old style ('96) Clarion head unit, changer, and sound processor w/ fiber optic cables.

Peaks at 142 dB and is as clean as your mommy's kitchen floor after she waxes it. All of this in my Evo VIII with the rear seats that don't fold down.

As for anyone over 150 dB, wtf, can you get that loud without being outside of the car (probably sitting on the trunk so that onlookers don't notice your rattle).

And as for 220 dB (laughing my *** off as I write this), maybe with a 1 MW nuclear power plant in the trunk and 15 8' subs. Plutonium is cool, but watch out for the radiation dude

yeah...i think the record is in the low 180's...maybe 181 something...if you go higher then that then you have to increase your power level like 10 times for each db increase.(i.e. 180db 10,000watts....181 db 100,000watts) ...its something crazy like that.

yup, in order to increase SPL by 3 dB you need to double your power output

220 dB is quite hillarious... since it's impossible in this atmosphere. The line is pretty solidly theoried to be at 194 in the air. 180 is a pretty damned far sight off from what's being done in cars these days. 160 is a bit closer to what the hardcore boys are putting up in purpose built vechicles.

On the old mic, with my full setup, I was doing a pretty steady 155 (average) I haven't really had the time or want to build a new system, or get what I'm running now metered.

TREO does hold the world record for Db's at I think 177.6Db's. Previous to them my friends from Audio Concepts here in Allentown, PA who held the record for a while at i think somewhere around 175-176. They were at the same competition where TREO broke their record. They hit really close to 177Db's and TREO came up with their run and posted the current world record.

Oh yea a jet taking off might be 130 bds or what ever? But thats ALOT higher tone than they use at db drags(20-80 hz) and humans are wayyyy more sensitive to higher hz than 20-80 hz more like 1000hz (i thing)is where we are most sensitive at!
