a couple easy questions for sound gurus

hey hey

so ive got my system wrapped up - all i need is the amps and wiring, etc.

what ive got:

HU: Pioneer AHV-P6500DVD flip screen
Front: Infinity perfect 6.1 component 6.5"
Rear: Infinity 63.5i- 3way coaxial 6.5"
Sub: (1) JL 12w6v2

im looking to buy a JL 500/1 for the sub and a 300/4 for the rest of the components

the thing is, i plan to run the speakers off the HU for a little while (has mosfet 50x4) and down the road ill throw in the 300/4

so the question is as follows - id like to set things up right now so that an addition of the 300/4 will be a piece of cake. ive done some research and so far ive found that a distribution block would make things pretty simple.

what do you guys think of this:

a fuse under the hood with 1/0 guage power running to a dist-box and from the box ill run 4 guage to the 500/1 amp. 4 guage ground -

the thing is i dont know much about the power levels and fuses. i also dont know much about dist-blocks

can anyeone recommend a top quality dist-box and wiring kit with under the hood fuse that will meet my needs?

ultimately, once i get the 300/4 amp i just want to be able to mount it and plug in the power/ground (ill try to route RCA's etc so i cna just plug and play)

any suggestions? your thoughts?

thanks a lot guys

those amps take up to 4ga wire each. you can run 0 gauge from the battery back. those amps in combo won't pull more than 63.4 amps so you cna get a 60 amp fuse and you'll be fine. run the zero gauge into a fused distro for the power. for the ground you'll want another distro (you dont need a fused one for this one) that takes 4ga inputs and gives you a 0 ga output. since you plan on running a 4 channel amp, make sure you run the rca's down the opposite side of the car as the power is on. otherwise you'll get line noise. a good place to look for amp install accessories is sounddomain.com. one more thing. your probably going to need a new battery clamp because you probably won't be able to attach the 0 gauge to the battery as it is now so take that into account. pm me if you need more help.

The wire size can be 0 or 2 gauge wire, both would be big enough to support those amplifiers. Good distribution block would be lightning audio, I have liked there stuff, but there are so many now that it could be hard to go wrong. It is important to pick the battery terminal replacement to match the wire size and make sure it has enough connections to hook up the oem stuff as well, buy enough wire, and don't do it really cheap! The wiring is important to the stability of a good audio system

Yeah you still need the fuse under the hood. That fuse basically protects the whole system. The fuses in the distro block protect the wiring for the amp. I've always used fused distro's on all the countless multi amp systems I've done. Extra protection is worth it when you do high end stuff (or low end for that matter). Who wants a fire in there car? Those distro blocks are pretty good. I've seen a couple of cars running them. As for the clamp, check out sounddomain.com or froogle.com (you can search for it).

Thats correct. Just make sure you run the rca's on the opposite side as the power wires.

lets say from the battery back to the trunk, from the doors back to the trunk?'
