Is this too much for my stock battery and alternator to handle in my evo 8? Should i downgrade to 2 10s and lesser amps? I really want to stay 2 subs, because I want to fabricate 2 enclosers on both sides of my trunk.

you will need a cap... and ya might want to start looking at what forum you are posting in.

this is for regular lancers.
there is a seperate place for Evo's.

 

evo forum doesnt have a sound forum, but hey this stuff should be valid for lancers too

 

I am running,
3 phoenix gold Ti amps running, 2 8inch subs, 2 sets of components and 2 12inch eclipse subs.
I have been running a cap but really have not seen a problem before the cap was installed.

I wouldn't go over 1k watts rms for the system. The alternator is only a sucky 90 amp one and 1k watts will get you close to that 90 amp rating. you dont want to go more than 120% of the alternators charing ability or damage will occur. i prefer staying right under 100% because you have to keep in mind that you still have to run the rest of the stuff in the car as well. i would reccommend a cap as well.

 

Im running the jl audio 300/4 300/2 and 500/1 and havent had a problem at all. I do have an alumapro 15 fared cap. My lights dont dim at all at full blast. I think youll be ok if you get a cap.

ive asked around and the word is no cap needed
