139.4 dB in 100wrms class

Okay, this was from a few months ago, but i finally got my pictures developed, and here you go.. It was from Car Show we had here, mind you, it was outside in 92 degree heat.. and I have no air-conditioning to try n cool the interior down on my runs..

This was my setup at the time..

2 x Clarion 10 " SVC Woofer in a 0.66 cf per sub box.
1 x 4x25wrms amp bridged to 2x100wrms
Clarion Head unit with Clarion 6 Stack CD.
1 pair of Clarion splits running from head unit ( just to see what song its on)
2 cans of Freeze Spray ( just to cool the baby amp down a bit during runs)

Pete

Good job!

Have you considered porting the box? You should gain 3 db if the box is properly tuned...

What kind of mic's were they using? (Curious)

The Clarions are actually best using a sealed box as stated by Factory.. thats how i got my best score..

I'm not sure of the mics.. was kinda running around all day as the other car kept poppion fuses..

have you tried porting it though? seriously, porting the box lets the rear wave interact with the front wave of the subs, so you've almost got twice the cone area that is giving you more SPL...

A lot of subs are recommended in sealed boxes, but they'll still go louder in a ported box..

I'm not saying its wrong, im just saying consider it...

139db with a sealed box is a feat in its own - let alone with only 100W!

I wouldnt guess either !!

Weird thing.. my friend has a R33 with 2 12's and a 1000W kenwood amp.. and he can just get 142dB

So its all bout many different things that happen in cars that can't be accounted for..

Ya, it's weird...

A kenwood 100W amp is only gonna put out 350 RMS, so if ya think about it, hes got probably more power than you, but his compensation in lack of subs (yours are better) will make it so that hes only gonna gain 3 db...kinda makes sense....
