Alpine CVA-1003 Help!
Hey guys, i just got a CVA-1003, and i was wondering if anyone could help me out. your supposed to connect it to your foot brake, and ebrake leads, but where the heck are they?!?!?
and also, there is a way to bypass the safety "monitor off for your safety" feature...anyone know how to bypass that WITHOUT having to purchase the TR-7? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. And if your local in So Cal and have done this, in person help would be more greatly appreciated
Thanks,
Zeeshan

I have the CVA-1006 in my car.
I did hook up the wire that goes to the foot brake/stoplights.
My dad found which wire it was in the big connector block under the dash using a test light.
Your cars wiring may be different than mine.
I used a DPST toggle switch to hook up the wire that is supposed to go to the e-brake.
Put the wire on the center tap, 12v on one end and ground on the other.
When you click the switch back and forth, this simulates pulling the e-brake up and down, like the manual says.
You do this while holding your foot on the brake pedal.
You want to switch it from grounded to 12v to grounded.
You leave it switched to ground; this simulates the e-brake on.
This will put you in setup mode so you will be able to get at all the functions.
Hope this helps...

okay, so the ebrake wire was never hooked to the ebrake then? i can just hook it to a toggle switch and ground it?
now the other wire, that is supposed to go to the foot brake, is there anyway to simulate that as well? i dont feel like searching around for the right wire, it'll be a pain.
