ahhh, the W7, now thats classy. i recommend those. my kicker solobaric 12L7 hits deeper than any 2 12" subs.

Who cares if its considered rice. It's his car. Let him do what he wants to do.

For the sub I would suggest looking at JL W6 or W7 depending on your budget. I have Alpine Type R and I don't have any complaints with them.

Just make sure that if you get a good sub you get a good amp as well. JL are good amps but they are expensive. If you want a cheap amp that will put out a lot of power take a look at the JBL amps.

Treo's

but that's if you can actually find them anywhere - not sold in stores, only through audio/car shops

i'd say rockford or jl audio if want high decibel stuff, but I just switched over to all polk audio and I'm massively impressed, the stuff looks clean as hell, and sounds actually pretty damn good, nothing to db drag with, but still excellent sounding, look at my profile if u want to see how my trunk turned out.

Rockford is garbage, i can't believe people are still buying that junk. JL kicks major *** when it comes to subs and I say stay away from PPI. Everyone has their own idea's about car audio only way to really tell which is the best for yourself is find out what you are looking for. JL are loud and pretty clear, Rockfords are loud but way to mumbly(if that makes sence) I'm an audiophile guy and buy nothing but soundstream and velodyne but thats my taste. **** i seen a honduh with 2 MTX cheapo's and the car pounded....it sounded like **** but it pounded.

I 2nd that, You guys that buy car audio **** from Best buy kill me. You can get a better sub for = or less money when you are not paying retail. Most people here will fill you full of what they have been told by the 16 year old kid at the store, well he still picks his nose and has a ****ty system. Bottom line is that 90% of the people on here have no clue. http://www.soundillusions.net/index.php
post this same thread there, Talk to those guys
they will set you straight. my best advice is to read a little think alot then save your money for something great. Rockford, MTX, and Alpine are in a class all on their own, a class below.
sure they make sound but why settle for that, get good sound or you will regret it. just my 2 cents.
