When I worked at Best Buy we had one the pioneers come back and it got refurbished, I didn't hear about it again so I'm guessingit didn't have any problems. Also, if it is the same one I'm thinking about, it will probably come with a seperate tuning box needed to hook everything up.

I bought a refurbished pioneer AVH-P6500dvd in dash unish a week ago off of e-bay.....No complaints here.....easy install. And if you want it to play dvd's while driving, just ground out the e-brake wire.
I have the Pioneer AVX-p7300dvd 7" indash dvd player, the Pioneer AVM-p9000r brain, does dolby digital, DTS, and DSP processing for sourround sound. It has fiber optic data streams for the dvd audio. Also have the Pioneer Gex-p7000tv tv tuner, the Pioneer Gex-p910xm XM tuner, and a Pioneer 12 disc changer.
All refurbs off ebay. Just stick with the sellers that have like 3000+ feedback and you will be fine. My screen came damaged, but it was obviously from shipment, the co I delt with overnighted me another one.
BTW - thats only the video portion of the system in my truck
