I dont believe you can? the head unit does put out enough juice to do this.

It sure doesn't a wopping 15rms is far below the minimum of 50rms for just about any subwoofer unless you're talking 6"-8"

LOL!!! Funny thing I was asked this same question last night! And I did this when I found out the answer !!!! But actually you can put subs to a stock radio, but its more trouble than it is worth, cause you need to add wires so you can get left and right work properly on your amp (if you are using one) and if you mess up on one wired you can fry the whole system.Plus it can wind up costing more than just replacing your system!! My advise is to just get another head unit like Alpine or pioneer(less trouble) Good luck!!!

actually, if you mean adding subwoofers and an amp to the stock system, you can. All you have to do is purchase a little modulator that goes behind the factory deck which u attach wires to that of the rear speaker wires on the plugg. Then you can run your rca cables to the little modulator and into the amp....the modulator price 25$ or less.....Now to hook subs to the deck with no amp....waste of time.......if your subs only require 40 watts, i think its time u throw them a way...

the RCA converter (modulator) that SpeshalK posted about works pretty well. i got one of these for 20 bucks. you can find them at any car stereo store (ex: Tweeter). you can either hook it upto the speaker cables behind the head unit if you know the color coordination for the wires, or just hook it up to the speaker cables under the rear dash. but, its only downside is the fact that you can't really adjust too much with the stock head unit, thats why as soon as i can afford a head unit, i'll get one so i can get good equalization of sound.

Why not just buy a new H/U? The 2002 Model year is winding down and many places have great deals.....it will save you alot of aggrivation and it will have preouts to run your rca's.....let me know if you need help picking one out.

The individual didnt ask if he could purchase a new deck, he wanted to know if he could add one to his existing radio...
