I've noticed that the majority of people on this site dislike sony xplod equipment. I've never personally owned any of their products but i've heard some 12'' XPLOD subs in my friends eclipse and they sound just as good if not better than many i've heard. I'm considering buying some sony xplod products but now im curious as to why so many people dislike their stuff.

 

I think people said their amps are overheating or something

Agreed, for the price of xplodes you could go set yourself up with some MTX stuff. There lineup isnt the best either, but for subs they are a good buy....

 

i just like their HUs not their sub or speakers

yo, i have 12 in Xplods with the 1600 watt amp, no problems to date.... only have blown 1 fuse

 

Xplod subs are decent for what they are. they are cheap. i have 4 of them (only 2 are in my car) they have held up for quite some time although they are not very efficient. the same setup in my car with kicker subs was alot louder and cleaner. the only reason i got them was the deal i got on them otherwise i would have never bought sony. they are really cheap on the net if you look for a bit. i got all 4 of mine for around 125$.
if you got a big amp and dont care about sound quality then the sonys will tie you over till your ready to move on to somthing better.
i would suggest buying somthing better the first time around

 

yeah i paid 45 a piece for mine. and my 1600 watt amp (retail 350) i got for 225

 

Please tell me what kind of "1600WATT" Amp you have thats not completley obliterating an XPLOD !!!!!!!!

 

i got a 1300 watt amp for 191 and it dont work atleast me and mr kareem couldnt get it to work.

 

1300 watts..... hmmm is that what it says on it. Lemme guess Rockwood? Kenford? Pyramid??
