Installing stock stero in boat, problem powerin up

Hello,

I am installing my old Sh*tsubishi Lancer Stock stereo into my little 9 foot pond hopper. I have everything wired up prosfessionally, got the old harness new from Best Buy (my job), and and ready to solder onto the harness. I wire everything up to check the connections, including the power and ground, and it does not turn on.

I am running power from a 12v deep cycle battery wired all throughout the boat, in addition I have attached the negative from the battery to the stereo's body. Is there any theft protection or anything I am missing out. There is a postive and negative in the harness but no ground (not that I have one on the boat, the negative i assume).

On the back of the radio, it has two round attenna ports (i believe thats what they are) a harness port, for the harness I am usuing, and on the back left bottom there is a round (alot of pins) connection, but I dont remember anything ever being hooked up to that. Maybe a 6 disc?

Anyway, what am I forgetting, doing wrong?

i don't remember if the stock radio has a anti-theft protection. if it does then thats the problem. you have to enter a code for it to turn on.

negative = ground.

you also need an accessory (switched power) wire

I believe the accesory is it!

I overlooked it, i thought it would be something.

How would i go about hooking up the accesory (switched power, by this you mean power, low voltage like 3 volts I assume) to the acc wire on the harness. Could I just hook up a little auto switch switching the 12 volts to that switch?

Im gonna run and try that now!
