new idea to explode sound?

http://www.soundbug-us.com/adtemplate.asp?invky=491832

so they attach to any smooth surface and amplify sound up to 75db. I was thinking it would be a good way to augment sound easily however connections would be difficult since it plugs into 3.5mm headphone jack and would need to be spliced.

Any thoughts on making this work easily?

yep, there is enormous untapped potential for sound reverbaration and this is an idea I thought of in high school, I am interested to see what they use to transmit the sound to the glass...

the particular device would be useless to hook up to the car stereo, if thats what you mean, but for a portable cd player or a laptop....very very interesting

I think its like the glass dish they use in football games on the sideline!! Sounds hits the glass at the bottom of the dish and its amplified into a microphone. Thats how you hear all the hits and bangs of the players from across the field!!

well if i am reading it right, it just acts as a speaker, when you dont have a speaker, in a car thier are speakers thus the thing wouldnt make much sense, maybe i am wrong though....that is the interpretation i got

I only have 4 speakers, instead of adding a tweeter this is 75 db added by using the windows. didn't think it needed much interpretation. I may try it, but I'll probably look for a product review first

yea, that's how i read it too. you take your portable cd player, plug this bad boy in, stick it to one of the listed surfaces, and it vibrates the **** all scientific like and sounds comes out. it turns something super weakly amplified (portable cd player for example) into something that a few ppl can listen to at once.

like, i put some non amplified speakers into my cd player once for a bus ride, so a few of us could listen. yea... it sucked. it was only as loud as my headphones. no matter how nice the speakers, you needed some sort of amp to get these things to work well enough for a few ppl to enjoy at once. this eliminates that need, by doing what is says it does. vibrating and ****.

Well, most tweeters are 90 dbs and higher so the sound coming out of this thing wouldnt be as good, and things stickin on you window????.....that would look ghetto as hell, just my opinion sorry if I offended you, not tryin too.....but these things dont seem practical for mobile audio, now for your portable cd player, etc...... It seems smart.....

Do it right and put a system in your car. Dont cop out by puttin these things on your window. Seems tacky as hell to me. No offense.....just my opinion.

word, if the system was a priority I would go that route, but these things have to weight a ton less than any speaker with a decent magnet does...weight is an issue, I agree they most likely would look tacky...don't shoot the messenger just bringing it before ya'll

If you ask me (no, you didn't ), I think looks are the least of the issues with those things. Sound quality from the ones I heard sucked. I think it's probably fine for presentations with low quality audio or voice (which is the market I've seen it aimed at), but there's no way that I'd want to listen to music with it. I've heard cheap paper cone speakers that put out higher quality sound.
