new idea to explode sound?
I had something like that in my Oldsmobile. It wired into the stereo wiring and ther was one for the left and right and they simulated base using the car to make vibrations sorta. It fed the music to the unit and it would make the chasis vibrate and it felt like 4 12's were bumpin in the trunk when in reality I only had a set of Pioneer 6x9's and some 4 inch speakers in the front dash. everyone always that i had a sub system because when the bass hit it made the whole car vibrate.
It was cool to say the least.

ozrally you are talking about something different....those are called bass shakers or some ****....all they do is put out a frequency below 20Hz (which you can't hear) and it just vibrates **** in your car, giving the appearance of bass. doesn't "sound" any better because there is no actual sound that you can hear being emitted (besides all of your door panels and glass vibrating).
those things that stick to smooth surfaces, you're right, the sound quality is real bad. i believe what it does is, instead of creating air pressure, it just creates resonance at certain frequencies. it will sound OK at low volumes, but once it is turned up it will sound bad. there's really no cheating when it comes to sound....pretty much the heavier the magnet the better the sound. plus if you combine these things with your stock speakers i'm pretty sure they'll get drowned out (plus can they take the wattage? they are probably only meant to take low wattage)

from what i understood from the article, they dont amplify sound by 75dB, they amplify sound to 75dB. so, for a cd player with an output of like 3.5mw, and plugging it into this device making a "loud speaker" type desktop speaker, would be nice and relatively cheap way to enjoy portable radios and laptops. however it is my understanding that this device is not an amplifier or a speaker, but a resonator that uses reverberations similar to that of a drum or symbols, or even chimes.
