cheap amps
I was wondering if anybody had tried any of these cheaper or rip off brand amps like pyle, legacy, xblod, pyramid etc. They advertise like 800RMS for $125.00 so i was wondering what makes them such ****y amps or if everyone just hates them cause they aint top of the line.
i had a pyramid amp to power my fosgates and it works better than the power acoustik i just bought. My power acoustik acutally just fired. I like pyramids amps personally.

i would rather spend the extra 50-100 dollars and get something tried and true with a good warrenty
that way you get the quality and don't have to worry as mush about blowing speakers and frying your amp either

When I bought my Pzone I asked one of the guys and he said some of the off brand names are just as good as Alpine, Jl etc. They just sell them for cheap. I bought mine and it was rated at a 1000watts. I bought two 12 in Duals in a Plexiglass competition bass box. I thump harder then my friends that spent more money. I have a friend who spent 900 dollars on his subs and amp and I thump just as loud and clear as he does. I bought my amp for 60 bucks. Originally 120. I give it a big
. I love it. Never cuts out. Try it, if its nice, keep it, otherwise return it. End of story.
Ive had a legacy 500w for about 4 years now...never had any problems with it. I just bought a lanzar 800w but have not hooked it up yet. If you compare specs and make sure you are reading RMS not MAX I think you will be fine.
And if im not mistaken you want a high signal/noise ratio. A low one would yield more noise for the signal. But yeah just look at specs and do some research before you buy one.
I think cheaper amps are a great way to go if you dont want to spend alot of money and just want some decent thump.

JL amps are regulated - same power from 6-1.5 ohm...you just dont get that anywhere...
And I'd like to see 1 competitor with a cheap amp (excluding lanzar in SPL comps, they're decent..)
Come on...lets see....
In car audio, you get what you pay for, but there's always exceptions - Alpine's over rated (IMHO for the money), cheap amps are hit and miss - you can get somegood, some bad...

The amps you just named are of cheaper quality parts no doubt.
Cheaper resistors, capacitors and so on, that’s what makes them affordable.
The better parts you use the more expensive they become, but more expensive doesn't always mean better.
I hope this confuses the hell out of you.
Or maybe you won't even notice my post,
No one ever notices me.
I'm going to go listen to Linkin Park.
also do you think this would be a good amp for the price
