Need help ASAP Please

Ok ive installed an amp in my car and went through the side gormet thing. It popped out and I cant get it back in. Any easy way to do this because under my carpet on my drivers side is like a puddle of watter. Im not sure if its leaking from the gourmet not being back in because the carpet that comes up is not wet its just what is under my floor mat. Please help. Thanks.

The water is probably from condensation building up on the A/C duct work inside the car, my EVO does that from time to time on the drivers side. As far as putting the grommet back in, put a little silicone grease on the edges or some WD-40 and it should pop right in.

Well I mean like all underneath the carpet is like a puddle of water. Would it be alot of water. Its also under the seat too.

Well, if it's under the carpet, it's likely it came from above the carpet. If the grommet area is wet, it's possible it came from there, but unlikely if you haven't been having any big storms in Houston lately. The AC does create moisture in the cab of your car all along its piping in the form of condensation and usually that drains out, but if it isn't, then that's probably the cause.

To get your grommet back in, take sr20det91's suggestion. He said silicone grease - that is the kind of grease.

Ill give it a try. Its just the carpet thats not on like the floor that comes up by the peddle is not wet just whats like under the floor mat and under the seat. I just dont wont it to mold or anything from water just sitting. I vacummed out and got alot of the water out. We did have a big strom here this weekend maybe that caused it. Where can I get that grease at and is that what it will say is silicone grease on the package. Thanks for all the help.

Are you talking about a gromet you removed to fish your power wire from your battery to your amp? If so then which gromet. The one that I used I was able to seal up back around my wire. Had it in for over a year and I have never had a leak.

Iam a little confused here. Did you guys drill and install a new gromet or did you just use one that was already there. I used one that was just a bit lower then half-way down the fire wall on the passenger side. it has 2 10mm bolts on it. I losened one of he bolts, fished my wire through(taped a rubber peice on the wire where it sits) tightened it down and I had a good clean install with no drilling and no leaks.

If you did drill and use an aftermarket gromet then you could always just silicone around the gromet and the wire where it's leaking.

No on the drivers side if you put your head under the dash and look to the left you will see a bunch of wires going out the car to the side. Follow the hood release line and you will see the gourment im talking about.

Ok guys the WD40 worked like a charm. Here is where im confused. I picked up the carpet in the back and it was like a puddle of water had gotten back there. Anyone have an idea of what it might have been.

Where exactly did you have the water this time? Is it possible it flowed from the last leak? Is it possible it's been there since that last storm you mentioned? Have you looked for any leaks anywhere else, like an aftermarket sunroof or something?
