12 Volt Tap in...
Easiest way, get one of those light up power lead testers and see where the closest +12v wire is.
If you wanna wire up map lights, tap the dome light, if you wanna wire stuff down under, you can tap wires going to the cig lighter.

by "tapping" into stuff you are putting an excessive load on the wire. My reccomendation would be to run new wire, cleanly of course, right through your firewall and make a little junction box near your dead pedal, thats what I did. Dont forget to use the appropriate size wire for the job and the right size fuse. Otherwise, you could have serious problems later on.
I would also recommend running a new 12v lead into a fuse box to power your accessories. I have always thought it to be best to keep all of the non-essential (but very desired) accessories seperate from the rest of your wiring system just to help avoid anything that could possibly go wrong. Take your time, buy the right wires/fuses and make yourself a nice fusebox and you will have a beautiful wiring system. Also what you could do if you wanted to is to run leads from the new fusebox to either an analog or digital control panel hidden either inside the glovebox or under a seat giving you better access to the power to each individual component you want to add. Peace out enjoy
