Rear View Mirror

My Rear View Mirrior shakes because of the vibrations from the subs and now it won't stay up all the time. Now the vibrations make it fall does anyone know how to tighten it back up or anything?

could take it into mitsu and say it fell off even if they found out why and wouldn't cover it under warrentee they would at least have the right kind of glue to fix it correctly.

You can go into Autozone and by the rear view mirror glue kit. Rear view mirrors fall off, it happens. Stay away from the high prices at the dealer. Autozone will have the kit for no more than $10.

and if you don't mean that its falling from the glass itself... just the knuckels/joints are failing... you could always just discon your subs and take it to mitsu and tell them it wont stay adjusted anymore... and if still under warranty they should honor it since even if they start your car they will not hear the subs!!

The rearview mirror glue kit available at Autozone SUCKS DONKEY *****! It comes with a crappy plastic piece that you're supposed to glue to the windshield, but the plastic flexes from the weight of the mirror. If you think your mirror vibrates now, it'll be useless if it's glued on with that kit. The stock metal piece won't stay up, unless you drill holes in it, to let the glue in the center dry. Even then, the glue is not the right kind. It's like aquarium glue, it flexes when it's dry, and the mirror still shakes like hell. The right glue will dry hard.

In short, no. Only a new mirror will fix it. It's the joints in the flexible support that are getting worn out and loose. They're not adjustable.

Couldn't you put some type of goo, or super glue even, down inside the joint to tighten it up. Worst case scenario with the super glue is that it gets stuck in one position. Long as you put the mittor in the place you want before it dries you'd be good.

Personally I'd just but a new mirror. Especially if you're already thinking about getting one with a compass.
