Question Quick Question about Wiring Harness

Hey everyone,

Long time reader, first time posting.
im getting ready to install a new head unit into my lancer but needed to know about a few of the wires.

On the Harness itself I have an:

Orange wire(Illumination)
Orange wire with a black stripe (Negitive dimmer)
Blue wire (Power Antenna)

On the wires to the HU I have:

Orange Wire with a white stripe labled ILL (Illumination?) Im guess the two illumination wires go together but what do I do with Negitive dimmer wire?
And where would the blue wire connect too? on the HU all there is is a blue wire with a white strip which connects to the remote wire.

Any Help would be great.

If I remember right the two oranges can just wire up by themselves. The blue wire from the harness is what you tap for your remote power for your amp.

Okay I got my deck in and it works fine along with the 4 main speakers but my Amp isnt getting power ... When I bought my RCA's they came with a small wire inbetween them and the guy said to use that as the remote.. so I connected that wire to the one labled remote on the deck and the other end to the remote on the amp. and I taped off the solid blue one from the harness itself...

Could that be the problem why the amps not getting power?

Ghostrider, You say to tap the blue wire. should I take it back out and connect it to the remote instead of the RCA wire or tie it in with both?

Hi there. I know this is from an old thread, but I am in a similar scenario as you. Basically its the same thing, on the stock harness there is a solid blue wire, on the aftermarket there is a blue with white stripe wire labeled "system remote control". If this blue/white wire gets connected to the amp, what do I do with the solid blue wire from the stock harness?
