air fuel management

Hey there, quick question. I already installed the RRM intake (nice product, great install dirs). Once my exhaust is done and i have the new piggy back my question is this. I already know I don't need the software, I believe I would only screw things up - instead I will rely on RRM's settings.
I don't have much else planned for the engine, as long as I don't start messing around with FPR's and bored throttle bodies, I'm thinking I wouldn't need wideband. Am I correct in assuming that? Wideband seems definitely over my head, and with relatively basic mods (e.g. IHE) would the piggyback take care of A/F for me or would I still need a wideband? I just don't want to damage my engine.

Thanks ahead.

if all u have is the above upgrades i doubt ul need to modify the piggy

but if u start going heavy ex: cams, masively bored out throttle body and intake mani, eventualy turbo ul need the software to change the a/f setting and if its version 2 then timing as well.

ok, I know I'll never go turbo (I'm over educated and underpaid, welcome to america). But someday I may be looking at throttle body, intake manifold, FPR so I guess I'll buy the software, and stash it away for when I need it. I've never used tuning software, I know there are no guarantees, but is it pretty easy to set up? Thanks again

you dont really need to go wideband if your not tuning yourself. im not 100% sure on this, but i think the rrm piggyback just change the afr's by itself. so you wouldnt really need it then. i have the apexi safc, and plx wideband, but if i were to do it all over again, i would probably get the rrm piggyback instead.

You will not need a wideband gauge for anything unless you will be tuning yourself. You should be fine with your setup except FPR. Do you know what to set it to? You should contact RRM and double check with them if you piggyback will automatically adjust everything for each setting of FPR. For example if you will set it too high your AF will be on the rich side = loss of HPs. Just give RRM a call and ask them, they have a great customer service.
