RRM PB V.2 CEL and air temp WTF?
Ok, here in ****ty washington we get nice dramatic weather changes and temperature changes. FInally got a rash of hot weather and I noteced something really funny I though RRM should know. No CEL at all or ANY rough idle AT ALL with an automatic when the temperature is above aroud 65. Car drives better, performance is very noticible, and the car has not stumbling or anything what so ever, others have even pointed this out to me.
Here is the big but though....
Its happened both while driving and on a fresh start now, as soon as the temo drops below this magic number in the evening, instant CEL and it stays on until the next day when it warms up again. if it doesn't warm up them it stays on and after a day or two the power is gone, I am really confused. Any ideas RRM?

no problem, It came back tonight within seconds of starting the car after being off all day during the warmer weather. Its suppose to be really hot again tomorrow so I will do some playing around and see if I can narrow down exactly what temperature its doign this at. I would love to get it to run like that all the time, even if I needed a different map for colder weather. If it makes any difference, the last reset was done in cold weather, mid to low 40's. ill keep this update and try to remember to bring a camera with me to get this momentus occasion on film haha, I have some portable digital guages I will put on my car, 1 probe in intake and the other outside car for temp readings from both. hopefully we can get down to the issues.
If you can get us the code the Ecu is throwing that would be very helpful. I'm experiencing something similar but I'm experiencing the opposite.
No cel when it's cold, P0102 when it's warmer.
Fast as hell when it's around 40 degree, back to slow when it's warmer.
The narrow band gauge shows a leaner mixture when cold.

i used to get that and i don't even have an rrm pb. i just pushed the wires into the harness at the MAS and it went away. my case could be unrelated tho.
EDIT: oh, P0102 wasn't what i was getting. i was getting the high temp code.

That code is prolly not the pb. Pb has nothing to do with temps. Good news is that this thread prompted me to try a few software changes. Good news is we found an update that seems to work lots better on 02-03 Lancers. I will start a thread about it shortly. Better idle, better response!

ever since i installed my PB ECU i've been pulling codes for "Air Intake Temperature to High" ....don't know if it's related or not but it's food for thought.
