I did the update and here are my conclusions.
Pros
The update does all that it promises. The idle is great, the power band is smoothed out. Seems to be working great.
Cons.
There seems to be a slight hesitation in the response time. Meaning when you step on it, it takes a moment for the car to respond. We are talking less than a second. This could have something to do with the lightened flywheel I have in there. So this posses problems for autocrossers. I have trouble double clutching because I do this so quick it never even response with the RPM’s rising, again a problem with the flywheel.
Over all.
I use the new update for everyday driving, and the old for autocross. It does work well. RoadRace stands behind there products and this is just another example of that! Keep up the good work. (any new fuel maps out yet hint hint?)

oh so all you gotta do to switch between the settings is plug your computer in, change the output setting and start it up? Here i was thinking you had to disconnect the batt to reset the ecu every time you change the settings...dammit! lol
this might be a dumb question but what cable do i need to buy to connect the piggy to my laptop?
what if I dont have the port from my laptop and have to connect it to my computer how will I put power to the Piggy?

if you don't have the port on the laptop then you can connect to home computer easy. Just go to radio shack and get a DC power supply. Sometimes you can get them with adjustible voltages. You need 12vdc obviously... anyway, after you get it just cut off the connector and twist the possitive to the red wire of the piggy... negative to the black wire of the piggy... and connect the via the serial cable to the desktop. Simple and easy.
The cable is a male to female 9 pin serial cable... Radio shack will have those as well.

Hey, my piggyback already has these settings changed ever since I sent it back to RRM a long time ago. This was before they released this new update and I simply sent my piggyback to them to have it tuned for a better idle. I still have missfiring and a bad idle (especially at roll) and other people are saying that this update completely changed their idle and it is no longer rough. I do not understand, I have had these settings and have always had rough idle.
Hey, I have had this update on my lancer the whole time. I sent my piggyback back to them a long time ago when i first got it to get a smoother idle and they sent it back with these settings already on the piggyback. This was way before the update was released. I do not understand though because I have always had missfiring and a rough idle (especially at a roll) and people are saying these setting cause for a smooth idle and everything. I dont understad.

You do not have the latest update. Like you said, you had it way before release. Newest update got release the same day! What is up with that. You can send it back for latest. You don't have the latest.
ROAD/RACE
I just installed the v.2 last week, i like the additional power it seems to provide, however the dead spot when you punch it takes away from any possible wot gains for me. I also didn't read enough about it since I now hear that it is no good for turbo...that was my whole purpose for buying it since I will be boosting next year. I've emailed Rob but have not recieved a response yet since thursday, I will be calling them tomorrow to see what can be done. The zeiltronics wide band which I ordered at the same time, is excellent, however at this point I'm dissappoiinted in the piggy back and will be removing it from my car if these problems cannot be fixed. It states that it improves throttle response, however the throttle response on my car could not be worse right now. Knowing roadrace's reputation I hope that they will live up to it and fix my problems, my biggest fear is taxes, duties and brokerage fees that I've already paid on this item as I'm in Canada, that money is gone. I'll keep you updated on my progress.
