superchargers are making a comeback (thanks Mini CooperS ) and a lot of autocrossers favor the torquey superchargers and there's no lag (waiting for the boost to build up) like with some turbo setups. They do have a parasitic effect and a slippy belt will drastically reduce the effect of the system. pros and cons to both setups (but don't tell that to the RRM fanboys- they don't want to hear anything good about superchargers )

someone just checked with SDS and I guess they'll only put a kit together if there are 5 people buying.... I think we can thank the supercharger haters for putting the kibosh on that one. Give them a call and find out for sure, though. I can't add forced induction for the rest of this race season (and I'll probably never come up with that kind of money at one time anyway) so I'm out, but you should def try to get it going.

If torch and your 0 to 60 are your main concerns then I would probably say that the super charger is your weapon of choice, I’m thinking of going with the super charger my self there’s no question that it will make a huge torch difference and I can’t use over 5psi with the turbo on the motor as it is, not to mention it’s a little easer on the wallet. hummm

Amen to that I think I’ll go supercharged *** well , I hate lag and the super charger I could install myself I need to get headers and probably a piggy back first but the super charger kit is $2999 . I think I can swing that, dose any one know what else I will need first if anything?

It's reeeeaally too bad that the guy who prototyped the SDS kit couldn't resist antagonizing the "turbo only!" fanboys and got himself perma-banned from this site (to be fair a couple of the turbo guys needed a time-out or banning but didn't get it until several months after this ban and it was for non-SDS-related fighting). I don't know how to get in touch with the prototyper, either. See if a search for "greenpsycho" will yield any results- they may have removed his posts, but I don't know.

Looks like someone may get to reinvent the wheel

It was ugly and he was on the leading edge of the "let's make it easier for mods to give people timeout and to ban people" movement. I honestly think we're better off without him, most of the time, because it seemed like he just wanted to bicker with the turbo guys. I mean, good for him for being the first with the supercharger on a Lancer, but he didn't want to hear the cons of a SC just like turbo guys don't want to hear the cons of TC.

Anyway, if you find useful threads let us know. Thanks
