Engine development for the 2008 Lancer has begun.
OliSim, can your guys find a workaround for the DRL/HID problems that I know a lot of us Lancer owners are concerned about? Apparently the Daytime Running Lights are controlled by the ECU. It would be nice to rerout the DRLs to the high beams so that HID can be installed safely on the lows. There are a couple of threads up right now concerning the HID problem:

It would definitely be nice to have HID that isnt ghetto rigged to the fog light switch, thats all...

This is very exciting news! A mod that is nearly worry free and worth paying to squeeze out that extra bit of power. Subscribed.
The ECU (Engine Control Unit) is your car's computer. ECU reflashes or piggbacks usually change fuel and spark timing curves, and hopefully gives more power.
okay... I wanna know when/who/if etc these are in the works or in the near future.. cause they are on my mods plan
- CAMS! - mainly mid range, but gains in the highs, something like a nitrous cam, hopefully big the RPM range up into the mid 7's peak.
- Throttle body - bigger bore please!!
- Throttle body spacer - to help with that mid/low range , and work with that bore TB and cams
so... any plans, news?

Will this flash be a hand held unit that will allow you to reflash back to factory parameters or will it be a system where we disassemble the ECU send it to you guys, after a few weeks you flash it and send it back?
I know on my superchip for my mustang before i started i downloaded the factory specs onto the hand held from the car so when I wanted to go back to stock it just flashed it back. Great for warranty and you can install multiple programs on one unit. Say 1 program $500, two $800, all three $1000 i think it was.
Also can someone explain how a TB Spacer works? I never understood the practical of this.

TB spacer expands the plenum (the large chamber behind the TB .. before the runners into the head) it's kinda a cheaper easier alternative to an aftermarket intake manifold .. they are advertised to give better throttle response, better low and mid range with a little gain in the top end. I don't know exactly how they do it, but they do, though you will see more from one with the rest of the supporting bolt ons already done.
We are still burning on the ECU, and other modifications like exhaust, sway bar, drop in filter etc.. However our move up to infineon raceway is eating up a lot of our time. Fortunately we should be up and running full speed at the track in a matter of weeks. But realistically the flash wont be done until early fall. Exhaust, sway bar and air filter should be done sooner than that however. Good things (and quality things) come to those who wait.
