Engine development for the 2008 Lancer has begun.
Cleaned up the BSDJ/Cos conversational posts.
Wow! That's great to hear! Given that we haven't had a post in this thread from a Works employee since July, it's amazing to hear that it's almost done.
Now I just hope & pray that it's not going to be "MT only" or anything like that...

^^ yeah everytime I talk to them (spoken to Oliver and Bill a couple times) they seem SUPER busy.
Never got an answer about the transmission type though, however I do know you will need to overnight it to them so it may be a selective engine flash and leave the CVT program alone

^^ they are working out a way so that people cant rip off their tune. I guess the last time they came out with a tune a bunch of other companies just copied and pasted.
It sucks I know (I have talked to them about a few different ways to accomplish this. I am an EE) however for now they have to protect their interest (which I get)

I dont think they have said it will be compatible with the GT-S model only. They haven't released any information on it yet (I am on their mailing list) that I am aware of.
Also the GT-S 5 spd and and the DE,ES models are identical minus larger brakes, couple sway bars, and some aesthetics pieces on the GT-S so it wont be any different to the ECU i would think. I dont know though.
Now CVT guys for sure it will be different. Even if the tranny is controlled with a TCU (transmission control unit, instead of through one integrated CU for the whole car), there would be 5 sp specific parameters (such as clutch in idle increase) that would not work on their car.
