05 engine in 02-03 lancer

Just a question guys, because I honestly have no clue, does the 05 lancer engine work fine in the 02-03 models? Reason I ask is because my engine is ****ing up now, and it's due to the stupid *** who owned it before, never took care of it, blah blah blah, so I know that 05 engines have some kind of difference with the fuel return, I think, don't quote me. So I was wondering if it would work okay.

Yea, you were correct on the fuel return difference. But other than that I think they're pretty much the same...but NAWSSS is available for the 05+ haha j/k

Why not go RA 2.4? or I know one of the Eclipse engines works also. Whenever something breaks on my car, it's time to upgrade.

Because he doesn't want to deal with an engine swap? The 05 engine is the same, the fuel system is different. I would assume you could move the fuel system from the old motor to the new motor though.

Yep, straight-forward swap. Just remove the old engine and add the new! Use everything else from the original car and you'll have 0 problems (assuming the new motor is cherry).

Yeah I don't feel like dealing with all of that nonsense with the swap, I'm sure it's great, but no time for that right now. My engine is hitting 108k and it's breaking down on me, my tranny is breaking down too, so I was able to grab one for $81 bucks. I HAD a 4G64 but I ended up selling it because my job was sucking *** and I needed to pay for some ****. So I can find a 4g94 for $290 bucks with 48k miles on it, which isn't bad. As for the RZ engine, the wiring and **** is all different so I don't need to deal with the hassle of that either, so I don't want to go that route. Hopefully I can make the fuel management work, that's my only worry right now, fitment isn't the issue, I just wasn't sure if some other technical things were different
