The Lancer ECUs do not base any tuning calculations off of the MAP sensor, so it is not possible without an AEM EMS.

WRONG!

I know MAF Translator Pro is a piggy back that can do it. http://www.maftpro.com/ Also the AEM EMS is not the only EMS out there.

The bigger question though is why do you want to get rid of the MAF?????

MAF Translator is used so that you can run a late model GM MAF and VTA with a turbo. It does not allow for removal of the MAF. And yes I'm well aware there are other EMS products available.

Basically you have to replace the MAF with a MAP sensor or have some other means of detecting how much air is coming in. It's a pretty expensive mod but certainly helps if you're turboed.

It does make going turbo a lot easier. Like hondas, you could technically run low boost on it without doing any type of tuning. But then again, if you get a standalone to use the map, you might as well get the most out of it.

You need a MAP sensor to replace it.

Not unless you're gonna be running on a built motor. Turbo setups 10psi and under can be tuned without a standalone fairly well on Lancers. Anything above 11-12psi and you're risking damage to your engine.

Only an EMS standalone can do that. Ems is great if you want to get that technical with your car
