turbo help! noob

hey everyone i am planning on buying a 2002 lancer oz rally with t28 turbo and it is tuned with the apexi safcII. the one thing that has me hesitant about throwin down the money is that it idles high around two grand or so. is this a tuning issue? i have used the apexi neo on my prelude so i am familar with basic operation. any help or point me off to the right thread if this has alredy been posted. i have researched several threads about the piggy back and didnt find anyhting about idle issues.

check if the idle biss screw is open too much, you can lower idle by turning it counter clock wise

yeah i think i'm gonna get it. i'm a certified mechanic so i know my way pretty well. everything looks great beside idle issue. it is running at 5psi. has 470cc injectors. it has a evo front end conversion tein suspensio progress sway bars and strut bar. garret t28 turbo and some other extras like audio and what not. i was just doin some research reading one of the stickys and it said a bov venting to atmosphere will screw it up and give me problems like i have. can you give me some more insite? does that sound like a good reason?

i used to tune with the safc II and i know that when you are doing the fuel curves... if you have too much fuel it will idle high... sme thing happens if you have to little fuel.. it will idle around 500-1k... i believe it may just be the initial fuel at idle that may be too high..

rx7 injectors?

i am not familiar with SAFC II, but try to lean it out a little on idle until you can idle at 900-1k or so.

I would ditch the SAFC II because I dont think you can control timing with that...

no you cant its simple fuel control. i plan on it but i just want it to run right so i can rest easy on buyin it. i'm gonna fiw the bov than mess with tuning since it was alredy tuned and dyno sheet to prove 205hp at wheels. he said they were ngk injectors

as for the BOV, you cant VTA because we have a MAF sensor.

im not sure how much knock you get with stock ignition timing at 5 psi, but at 7-8 i was knocking bad without touching the timing and just tuning fuel

Those Rx7 injectors are pretty big for only 5psi. No wonder the SAFC is scaled down at idle RPMs. Also the BOV has to be recirculated or you will have lots of problems.
