Deep vs Loud, w/ or w/o resonator?

Ive done some research and keep hitting the same walls when it comes to choosing an exhaust and would like some input...assuming you can stand another exhaust thread.

I have an 09 GTS CVT and already have an Injen CAI on the way. I am looking for a catback exhaust, but the thing is that I do not want to be that guy with the loud @ss, annoying as f*** , kazoo on steriods sounding exhaust that is designed to do nothing but set off car alarms.

I am looking for something that sounds more refined than that, you know? I don't want it quite but I don't want it blaring either (droning not really something im looking for)...basically it should be noticable but not overwhelming. Somthing bassy and, most importantly, of HQ sound. Given these things I am looking for and the CAI that will be installed, what kind of exhaust would you recommend? Do you think a resonator is a good idea for a better sound or will it quite it down too much? Oh, and I don't want my bumper to melt. Any tips?

And again, no need to point out the search option. I couldn't find the "exhaust thread" and I went through numerous pages looking for insight to only be left unsatisfied

Yes, a very popular choice. I was looking at both the SE and Ti-C. Not really a fan of the burnt tip (not a deal breaker tho). As far as these two choice go, which do you think is superior for the 2.4L GTS with and Injen CAI? Is the Ti-C too loud do you think?

Works had a nice axle-back exhaust for sale but for some strange reason stopped listing it on their website. I had time buy one and it's deep in low rev (<3500 rpm) and comes alive in high rev acceleration. It's not a kazoo on steroids at all.

I have been searching this topic for a while, and am pretty set on the WORKS exhaust too. If i could only get a sound clip of it, that would put the nail in the coffin.

3A Racing I have had them on my 2.2 ohv 01 cavalier, my 2.0 2004 forenza and my 2.2 05 ecotech cavalier. Deep tone every time No matter the intake. But the shorter the cone the more bass you lose in the sound.

The only difference between installing a CAI in a CVT Lancer vs. a 5-spd Lancer is moving the transmission cooler to allow room for the CAI. I believe the Injen CAI comes with a kit to facilitate moving the transmission cooler to another location.

BTW, I had the Greddy Ti-C on my 2008 GTS and it had a loud, deep tone. It sounded great! My GTS sounded like a muscle car going down the road!

Besides sounding good, it does give some extra power and torque. However, the extra power and torque is most noticeable in the low-end powerband.
