1 YEAR?!?!

i do the regular 3k or 3 months. 5k is reasonable, but i like to change mine every 3k. just gives me an opportunity to check under the car more often to make sure nothing is broken etc.

I change with the regular interval of 12,000 km and use the mobil 1 EP or Mobil1 0w20 (winter). changing sooner then that in my opinion is over kill

Thats a waste in my opinion. U can check the rest of the car without changing the oil. I do a small check (water, oil, pad, tyre pressure etc.) every weekend, and a whole car check every month (includes suspension, exhaust, electronics etc.)

i only drive street.. a lot of stop and go.. so it takes me a while to get to 3k. and it basically takes me around 3 months to get to 3k. so i figure what the hell... plus better safe than sorry, i plan on keeping this car for a long time

When it was new it was every 7,500 miles with Mobil 1 Synthetic till about 20k. The last couple times have been every 5,000 miles with Mobil 5000. My car is daily driver and doesn't see to many canyons during the winter because of snow.

Sorry didn't want to create a new thread.

I change my oil every 5,000 KM's, but I don't use synthetic. Mostly highway driving.

When should I change my transmission fluid? I just hit 54,000 KM's. I haven't changed it once, is that bad?

Thanks.

I don't think that you really need to until ~100K km. However, for peace of mind, I will be changing my m/t gear oil at 30k mi. Probably move to a full synthetic too.

Speaking of manual tranny oil - any recommendations for a synthetic oil in particular?

Thx.

Personally, I got redline MTL 75w80 gear oil. Haven't put it in yet, but that is the plan.

i change mine every 3500.

kind of off topic but i have 38k on my lancer, What all maintenance should i have done so far on my car other than oil change? its a CVT, maybe tranny fluid? i was gonna take it to the dealer but i heard they'll just charge you a bunch of stuff that you dont really need.

I don't think these are necessary (the more technically savvy I'm sure can chime in) - but maybe a coolant flush just to keep the radiator and water pump healthy... Bleeding the brakes... Tranny fluid change probably early at 38k but wouldn't hurt...

A new air filter to definitely bring performance back. I guess part of it is if you want to keep the car for a long time its good to do a lot of these things.
