Are you able to read your ROM with ECU Flash?

Or do you have any other way of verifying the cable/driver is working?

Ok so i spent today tuning for a couple hours. Results turned out good. highest count of knock so far is only 2 count. I lowerd the open loop values so open loop would happen when i was in boost, that helped alot. I had to retard timing ALOT to get rid of the knock! My AFR while in boost are at 11.3- 11.4. I mean i would rather be safe than sorry, but my car has alot of hesitation going into boost, prob cuz i pulled so much timing! i have to work on smoothing out the map now while still keeping knock down. Check out my log below!

Another log! Getting better! i smoothed out the timing so there are no sharp corners and i added some more fuel. AFR are right at 11.8, zero counts of knock up to 3,000RPM! I think im getting a good base map finnaly!

Very nice, I can see knowledge starting to flow from you! What's your next step, get AFR's right and do a little higher RPM?

And where you say "Select ECU" you've tried EvoX and USA EvoX?

Also, i think you said so earlier, and I don't know if it matters, but did you remove that re-flash connector when trying to log?

Oh, check this out too, you have an X and this guide is for them, and logging mode 23

To log the Evo X you have to modify the ROM for Mode 23 as the link above says, then select Mode 23 logging in EvoScan, as well as have the OpenPort 2.0 cable selected.

Did that but there's more to it , it's not as easy as people make it seem.

Yeah, sounds like it's getting close. One thing though, is that with that small lancer map, you are going to have some trouble leaning on the top end I think, if you push boost past like, 10psi. There is a thread about it, where adjusting MAF numbers is sort of the "fix" but the alternative is the evo ROM. Have you made any progress on your ecuflash stuff?

I think with TBub having an evoX, you're definitely on the right track here though. Are any of these mode23 steps in that tutorial giving you trouble, like do the numbers not match or anything? Also, you might want to post your questions in that thread, since it's sole purpose is EvoX logging, they may have better advice.

Yeah this is all with the lancer maps that i have just modified open loop tables, low octane fuel map and the low octane ignition timing map. I really want to upload the evo rom onto my lancer ecu, the one for the auto trans. I have the rom and all the stuff i need, the thing that is worrying me is i still cant "read from ecu" i can certainly flash, so im guessing im safe if the evo rom doesnt work well i have my stock rom saved on my computer from the first time i was able to "read from ecu" so im guessing i can always flash it back right? I really wanna give it a try i think it will make tuning easyer and the check engine light knock flash is sweet! what do you think? should i just flash the evo rom into the ecu and see what happens? on the evo ecu, i left the fuel and timing maps alone. I changed everything else to stock setting like the injector scalling and injector latencys.

It makes me nervous too...If it were me I wouldn't flash until knowing why I can't read. The missing list makes me think it's a software problem, like some sort of configs missing that were there before. Let me do some digging, and try to re-create the problem on my car/computer by deleting some files...brb

Yeah, bad news there then. So, did you change the settings for Mode23, or are you not to that point yet? Which step is confusing is the real question, I might be able to help with whatever "Speed bump" is in the way right now, since I'm kind of a computer guy...."People know me...I'm kind of a big deal"
