Unhappy Help

Ok, so I'm pretty new to the whole tuner world, but love that you can get 500+ horse outta a 4cyl. And i need ideas on what i need to do to my 09 GTS (turbo, forged pistons, ect.) to get that kinda power. Im in the Air Force so later in my career i have access to foreign parts from japan and what not. But while im state-side ill stick with wats here. In march of '13 im buying a turbo with a range of 8-20 psi. And i need to know how much psi i can put to a stock engine with a 10:1 compression ratio. Need help badly on the project.

oh boy, where to start. From your post I can tell that you are new to the import/tuning scene. Do yourself a favor and do some reading on here and look into the whole tuning aspect. The questions you are asking are impossible to answer due to so many different variables. I've never heard of a turbo that runs in the 8-20 psi range only. Every turbo can run any amount of boost that you want but it will not be efficient. Every single turbo has it's own efficiency range and different cfm's that it flows.

Also, don't worry about the "overnight parts from japan". I'm pretty sure you can get everything you need right in the good ole U.S of A.

500+? You'll never get close to that with this car. Most people barely break 300 with their upgrades. Dadgts from 9glancers is probably the most knowledgeable dude on these forums and he upgraded the hell out of his block and still ran into warping problems. Most people running boost on a stock engine are only running around 8 psi.

I know people really hate this answer, but if you can dump that much money into slightly increasing the hp of a car which isn't even going to perform well with the increased power, you should really redirect those funds towards a better car. Just sayin.

yeah 500hp is evo motor territory. I've seen turbo 4b11 lancers go as high as mid 300's but it blew a motor. He then got another motor and brought the boost down to keep it in the high 200 to 300ish range and it still gave him problems.
