05 Ralliart Stock Intake in 02 OZ Rally?

I have read somewhere that the stock snorkel that connects from the radiator to the airbox from a 2005 Ralliart can be used on the 02-03 OZ Rally and want to get opinions on this. I have tried to search for additional information regarding this swap, however the conversation always leads to talking about getting a CAI or a short ram intake. Do not care about CAI or SR.

Will the entire air cleaner assembly, including the accordion hose to the throttle body fit? Will there be MAF compatibility issues? Is it more restrictive than the OZ Rally design? Please sound off, I need information.

I can't help on fitment issues or anything car specific. But I would assume since the ralliart is a step above the OZ rally, the intake would be the same or better as far as restrictions go. When talking about the MAF readings, you need to look at the housing diameter where the MAF is installed. There's a good chance its the same diameter for the two cars, but you should double check anyways. And make sure the sensor is the same too, it won't work if a different style of sensor is used.

just to clear the air here, the 4G94 and 4G69 use two completely different MAF setups, so no, it won't work...I used to have a 2003 ES and my ralliart at the same time, i'm well aware of the obvious differences...look up what our MAF looks like, and you'll see...ours is the same as an EvoX, or 2008+ lancers. You may be able to swap the snorkel and front half of the air box, that is something i'm not too sure about, cause I never tried swapping them.

I am curious as to why you want to try this and wouldn't just get a CAI or SR

Yes, actually. It has quite a few cracks in it and I am finding it to be oddly difficult to find just that part, even in the salvage yards. I have read that it is a little more open than the 02-03 design, which interests me.

dealership cost can be expensive...I think it was a power steering pump costs half of what a brand new in crate transmission is worth...

go you car-part.com, it's an autowreckers network inventory from across north America, a lot of autowreckers will ship/mail parts...just call them.
