Magnaflow Install

I searched the engine tech forum for a little while trying to find some info on installing the Magnaflow catback system, but came up empty handed! Does anyone have any install pics and tips I could use? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks again!

not much too it. you will need a torque gun, some jacks and an hour or two. all you really do is unbolt the old one from the catalytic converter take it off, then bolt the new one on. If it doesnt come with a gasket for the pipinging to the catback you sould get one. just put the new one on, drive it around then check for leaks etc, afterwards. Good luck.

I've heard you don't need a torque gun, just some WD-40 and elbow grease.

One tip is to make sure the bend in the resonator pipe is going up, or the muffler will sit high and to the right.

some time you can find garages where u can rent a bay for the afternoon, and use all the tools.

If u have to get a gasket get a copper on their the best.

You really don't need a gun. Mine came right off. Use a 1/2'' drive ratchet.

The Magnaflow system doesnt use gaskets. They use 2 1/4" band clamps. (BTW, I ended up replacing them with much better quality ones from Napa Auto parts. $20 for two) Anyway, the only gasket you are using is from the backside of the catalytic converter to the b-pipe of the Magnaflow system. You should be able to re-use it, but if not, yes you have to get the gasket from the dealer.

You're from Canada, so Crappy Tire will have some in stock. Either bring your pipe, or draw the pattern on a pice of paper and bring it over there
