not imo, you can jsut make your own intake for a fraction on that cost, all intakes are really the same.

Save the $165 or whatever and put that towards a driving school.

That 0.0014801 hp gain isn't worth the money.

dude, seriously, it isn't that bad. i think my injen sri was still the best mod i've put on my lancer. it pulled so much harder over the stock air box, it was definately worth the money.

no, you are never going to make the lancer super fast, but hell, all of us are trying and enjoying the hell out of our cars as we do so

You can get less for going to Topspeed racing. You are paying all name like Rolex, etc.

I hope you don't take my following post the wrong way. By no means am I trying to make you feel bad about the mod, nor am I trying to personally attack you but...

How much "harder" did it pull over the stock air box? Any quantative data? I used to modify my car, believe me, I've done all those silly little mods... I had a Neuspeed intake (K&N filter at heart) and sure it sounded and felt a lot faster but did it net any gain? No. My brother and I had identical cars. Before and after the mod, it showed NO difference. Sure mine sounded a lot faster when I stomped on it, but it netted no real gain on pavement.

If you want real performance gain, you will first of all need to modify the pair of nuts behind the wheel. After that, consider some REAL mods like tires, LSD, cams, head work, and **** that matters most.

I disagree with you on both fronts

your disagreeing that people enjoy modifying there cars? pssst, you can't disagree with an opinion chief, it just doesn't work that way

you guys have to realize, not everyone has 3 grand to slap down on a decent turbo kit, nor the know how for cam work or hardcore mods like that. intakes are a fairly cheap and efficient way to give your car a bit more kick, and yes, the gain was fairly significant. if you wish to pay for my dyno, then i'd be happy to make a few runs w/ stock airbox and sri.

GreenPsycho has a point. I wish I could afford a turbo kit but I can't, I got other things in life to pay for. I will back him on a sri makes a difference albeit from 3500rpm to redline.

Really, what do you think will yield more gain on a track... Your $165 intake, or a $195 for a high performance driving school? The point is, the $165 you sink into an intake will net you virtually zero gain. Why not invest in yourself and improve your driving abilities (which will usually net you seconds off lap time), or save up for some real mods that will give you some real gain? (3-5 advertised gain vs 30% hp output)
