Shouldn't i be having more power?

Ok well ive fully got the I/H/E system, Kamikazi headers, SRI, and Mangaflow Catback. The thing is......well is that i dont really seem to notice too much differnce. i mean i dont expect to beat a evo or anything but i did expect a little bit of pull. Any tips/tricks for cleaning up car the take more advantage of my mods? Another thing is that the paint on my headers are starting to crack and flake off, should i heat wrap them? Just curious. I would have searched but i assumed that i would not come up with same scenerio. Thanks alot

well u should feel more in the top end than low end due to ur catback exaust and headers.. u have less back pressure which causes u to loose torque but gain hp at higher rpms do to better breathing. if you have the money jet hot coat ur headers... keep the temperature down in the engine bay.. if not than tape it.

without going forced induction..... id say look into the rrm piggyback ecu you'll notice a big diffrence with that not to mention a lil better gas mileage! And if thats not enough, cams and cam gears tuned properly, those are some of the very few ways to maximize a naturally aspirated motor quickly and really notice a diffrence without going forced induction. About your headers, did you get the ceramic coated kamakaze or the nickel black or what? I dont really understand what ur saying by the "paint" is chipping off.

Does the rrm ecu really give better mileage? I find that hard to believe when it's tuned to a more aggressive a/f curve and you must run 91+ octane all the time. Even if it does give better mpg, you're paying more per gallon.

They are the High Temperature Black Coating.

Ghostrider.... yes the ecu does give better gas milage, not enough to make a diffrence for the extra ur paying for 91 octane fuel, you're correct, but it does increase your gas milage. Go check out the rrm piggyback ecu rivew thread in us lancer general i forgot who started the thread but it was pretty well written if you want more info on the unit. Kelspar, um I don't really know what to do with your situation on the headers, I haven't really heard of that happening before... I'll try to search through some of the older threads if anyone else has the same problem, but for the meantime if its not affecting the performance of your engine, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Yep, with your free exhaust, you won't feel much more acceleration. You'll get a better top end but that's about it. Besides, making a 17 second car go 16.5 or even 16.0 seconds isn't going to push you back into your seat. I do agree that the piggyback will finish your package and you should feel a better pull then. And to concur with the better gas mileage, I get about 1-2 mpg more on the reflash (predecessor of the piggyback). Not much, but the dyno shows the performance I paid for.

^what he said. you really dont feel anything on the low end. you should feel a noticable gain on your high end though. nothing extreme, but defintately an improvement.

don't heat wrap the header especially if it's not ceramic coated. It will corrode and be crap within a year.

I have pretty much the same set up as you but I did a custom cat back. To me it is night and day difference in performance. Sure it is not EVO speed but with out the modifications the car used to wheeze it's way to 70. Now I fly to 80 with ease and I have the tickets to prove it.

Check into a cam upgrade or wait for the N/A pistons RRM is developing. That should just about complete the package for you.

I'd like to add that my header is rusted and looks like garbage right now but it does the job it was supposed to do. Heat does things to metal.
