that kind of flexpipe would be too weak, if you wanted to do something liek that then just sell your rrm intake and make a cai out of pvc and an adapter

ok dan it looks good and all but hers what cha do. get on ebay buy a cold ari intake for a 99-03 galant then take the the short piece and use it in place of the black flex tube. you will proly have to cut the piece to make it shorter(the new intake).
see in theory your intake works but any abstruction in the path of the intake such as your flex tube cause its all ridged makes it useless
try this
take it pour water through it, then pour water throught a piece that is smooth on the inside which flow better. well maybe you will understand what im saying but just putting a filter on a car is not going to do anything. please dont take me wrong im not bashing at all just trying to help you out it looks great man keep up the good work

yeah whats you point? im just alking about the tubing, i would never waste money on an AEM or injen, thats jsut throwing money away when you can make it, paint it if oyu care that much what it looks like and slap a sticker on it if brands really matter that much to you.

why are you talking about pride with a cai for a 100hp car? if you really want to get into that, i would be more impressed with somebody making something for their car and saving money then buying something of ebay.

well its not exhaust so the temps wont erally get too high, i dont know what the limit is on pvc. if thats really a concern then you could just go to home depot and get some metal piping instead, still saves. i dont remember exactly what my auterra was reading last night but it wasnt to high in tems of intake temps, and it was mid 70s here last ngiht.

Guys, chill.

Thanks Mike... so what kind of tubing would you recommend? Remember I have auto... it's really hard to find a place for PVC seeing as it's so stiff and all. We were only using flexpipe as we were going to bend it around. I don't want to relocate the battery. I guess it's another thing we'll have to look into when I come down.

Also, I don't exactly follow lucky? The piping I'm talking about is sold at Pep Boys (I know I'm not increasing my credibility here) so one can make a DIY cold-air.

Mike, maybe with the right bends and crap we can make one work lol.

Thanks again

Daniel

just to route air to your filter, then i see no problem with your flex pipe. i actually wouldnt do cai with you even if you were a 5speed. just do teh flex pipe idea, shouldnt be hard at all. i wasnt saying to use pvc to route air to your filter, but use it in a cai setup which you can really do unless we shaped it diff then the ones currently available (aem and injen). if you really want to be the first auto with cai, then we could probably figure something out, but youd probably have to stay another day.
