i was just wondering, wuts the most hp gain possible for the lancer with just general mods without getting turbo? itd b appreciated if any of you would post some of your mods and how much hp gain you got, or think you got. thanks

(sorry bout the sorta newbie question..got my lancer not too long ago and it seems like hp gain is expensive for this 4cyl cant get much out of it, just tryin to find more ways to gain a fair amount of hp without getting an expensive *** turbo)

Well some friends of mine bought a rally art and camed it up to 190. They should have gone with an exhaust upgrade but that isn't legal here and they are pro truckers. 200 whp should be easy. Should you want fi. Rip mod.s has an excellent setup and a complete system. Going that that route, you should get near stock Evo acceleration (once you have launched) given your lower weight, less power absorbing drive train, and quicker boost.

Your car comes stock with about 103whp. If you upgrade everything possible/available (intake, exhale, cam, pistons, ecu, etc.), I think you could easily add 75 by the time you're done.

Personally I'd rather save up for a turbo. RRM's costs $4099. The way I see it, I bought my 04 ES for $12,000 (after downpayment). A Ralliart costs about $17,000. Five thousand less, which could go into a turbo and get more power. RRM says theirs gets 230HP... I'm sure there's more you have to do to get that power than simply installing the kit.

Well yeah turbo is the best way for a inline 4 engine, but to get over 7 PSI of boost he still is going to have to get new pistons..... etc.

He said "over 7." And given all the blown pistons that have been happening lately, I think they should be invoved with ANY turbo project.
