I'm kind of scared to put on a CAI on mine. My boy messed up his engine after a flood. The dealer wouldn't honor his warranty because the problem was due to the CAI. He didn't have a bypass valve though, so that was probably his only mistake. I think I'd stick with short ram though.

so, the filter could get a little wet and be ok? because the rain gets through from the top where the cracks of the lights are

even if it gets wet it shouldnt really matter being that the filter is oil coated and repels the water thats why it must be submerged to suck up enough water to cause hydro lock...

No. I NEVER did when I had my piping on. NO ONE on the forums has siezed the engine in their Lancer and shared about it. If you take the time to look where the filter sits you'd realize how difficult it is to get any large amount of water in there without submerging the whole corner of the car. This has been asked and answered about a dozen times at least.

I had an issue once. I was stupid and took my car through an automatic car wash with undercarriage wash. it caused the engine to bog. It dried off shortly and works fine. In the rain. No problem as long as you don't drive through deep puddles. I have the Injen intake.

Probelms with my CAI? That thing is just a straw for my bebe at our favorite watering hole. Cuz sometimes she just gets THIRSTY! Besides, the water helps rinse out your engine.
