i was under my car adding some screen mesh to my body kit, when i noticed this huge hole in my stock downpipe. I have a CEL right now (installed the piggy back a lil while ago) i thought i installed my piggyback the wrong way even after tripple checking. But could this hole in my down pipe be the reason im getting the cel?? Is that supposed to be like that? pics below \/ \/

 

that's just a cover over the DP, it's been talked about before, just protection for it, you could have it re-welded if you want, but if this was actually through into the exhaust piping, you'd hear it, it'd be loud as hell

 

If it's an exhaust leak, you'll hear it like a sick (as in ill or dying) V8.

 

so i take it that the hole is normal?? lol after i saw this i thought i drove over a brick or sharp rock or something lolol... now that u mention a cover... im lookin at the pic again.. and i see something brown... that must be the actual downpipe.

 

Yea, that hole is just in the heat shield. No biggie.
